SCULPTOR, PAINTER, CERAMICIST
My sculptures seek to represent as archetypal the critical behaviors of contemporary man and their environmental consequences, creating a series of figures emblematic of contemporary life. The statues express the condensation of a visual language contaminated by surrealist solutions, pop proliferations, and archaic symbolism in the ordered/harmonic structure of ancient sculptures. I carry the aesthetic ‘baggage’ of the Italian art tradition that requires values of equilibrium and harmony which I negate to then reaffirm with new compositional inventions. What I find seductive about ceramics is that, while expressing modern concepts, I can maintain contact with the technique’s archaic roots, amalgamating historical memory and the present.
