NCECA 2015 Biennial

25 January-29 March 2015

Great News!! For the second time, I have been selected to participate at the 2015 NCECA Biennial! You can see the previous post here about my entry in the 2013 NCECA Biennial in Houston.

From 25 January, the works chosen for the 2015 NCECA Biennial will be on display at the David Winton Bell Gallery in Providence, Rhode Island.  This is a juried international ceramics exhibition arranged by the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts.

Jurors for the exhibition were Linda Christianson, Minnesota studio potter; Jo-Ann Conklin, Director of the Bell Gallery; and Anders Ruhwald, Head of Ceramics, Cranbrook Academy of Art. They dwindled down 1147 entries into just fifty works crossing nations and state boarders. There were pieces issued from 22 states and Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Romania, South Korea and Sweden.

These works encompassed a multitude of different styles and techniques, from functional pottery to installations with associated video or computer programs.

My piece, "Pink Shout" in the Biennial show, is now in the permanent collection of the ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center.
